Send a copyright notice

Send a written notice to the agent above by email or mail. Include all six items below. Identify each disputed URL; do not send illegal images or unnecessary personal documents.

1. Your physical or electronic signature as the copyright owner or an authorized representative.
2. Identify the copyrighted work, or a representative list if several works on one site are involved.
3. Identify the allegedly infringing material and give its exact URL or other information sufficient to locate it.
4. Your name and contact details: postal address, telephone number and email, if available.
5. State your good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
6. State that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the owner of the allegedly infringed exclusive right.

Consider lawful exceptions, including fair use, before sending. Knowingly making material misrepresentations in a notice or counter-notice can result in liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

How we respond

We act expeditiously on valid notices to remove or disable access and take reasonable steps to notify the uploader. If information is missing, we may ask for clarification. Copyright notices are handled separately from ordinary reports: report counts, reporter reputation and previous moderation approval do not prevent legal review.

If your content was removed by mistake

Send a written counter-notice to the same agent. Include:

1. Your physical or electronic signature; identify the removed material and where it appeared before removal.
2. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal or disabling resulted from a mistake or misidentification.
3. Your name, address and telephone number. State that you consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. Federal District Court for your address, or, if outside the United States, any judicial district where the service provider may be found, and accept service of process from the original complainant or their agent.

We forward a valid counter-notice to the complainant, including the contact details it contains. Unless our agent receives notice that the complainant filed an action seeking a court order, the DMCA procedure provides for restoration 10–14 business days after receipt of the counter-notice. Independent legal or Community Rules restrictions may still apply.

Repeat infringement and records

We terminate accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances, considering notices, counter-notices, retractions and other relevant evidence. Do not evade restrictions by creating new accounts. We accommodate and do not interfere with standard technical measures as defined in 17 U.S.C. § 512(i).

We retain notices and related decisions as needed to handle disputes, prevent repeat infringement and meet legal obligations. Relevant information may be shared with the parties or as required by law. Agent registration does not guarantee immunity from liability.

Other concerns
