Archaeologists described a ship from the first half of the 17th century found during the laying of a gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea
Polish archaeologist Michał Konrad Grabowski from the University of Warsaw published in the journal International Journal of Nautical Archaeology the first results of the study of a wooden ship from the first half of the 17th century, found on the bottom of Greifswald Bay off the coast of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in Germany. The vessel was accidentally discovered in 2023 during preparations for the construction of a 50-kilometer underwater gas pipeline between the LNG terminal in Mukran on the island of Rügen and the gas transmission station near the resort of Lubmin.
