Raising the tax on passive income could bring Russia’s budget up to 700 billion rubles a year
Expanding the progressive personal income tax scale to passive income could bring Russia’s budget an additional 500–700 billion rubles a year, economist Dmitry Polevoy estimates. Currently, such income is taxed at 13–15%, and after the changes a scale from 13 to 22% may apply to it.
