Scientists described the mechanism of brain vessel damage in Alzheimer’s disease due to APOE4
American molecular biologists reported that the APOE4 mutation associated with Alzheimer’s disease contributes to damage to brain blood vessels. According to the researchers, pericytes in the vessel walls more often turn into myofibroblasts, which is linked to the accumulation of beta-amyloid.
