In 27 regions of Russia, the spread of HIV has reached the generalized stage of the epidemic: the virus is detected in more than 1% of pregnant women. In Russian medical institutions in 2025, eight outbreaks of bloodborne infections were recorded — the highest in 15 years, with 104 patients affected.
