In the Black Sea off the coast of Bulgaria on the night of October 13, drones attacked two merchant ships, one of which — the Ukraine-owned Chelsea 3 sailing under the Maltese flag. Bulgaria intends to summon the Russian ambassador Eleonora Mitrofanova because of this incident.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev said that Europe should reconsider the balance of military, economic, and diplomatic tools and give priority to diplomacy in relations with Russia. Otherwise, he said, the situation could lead to a Russian nuclear strike.
