About 20 Finnish MPs reported cases of intrusions into their homes and apartments, The Telegraph reported. In one episode, a politician found feces left in the toilet, and parliament speaker Jussi Halla-aho said no signs of forced entry were found.
Several members of the Finnish Parliament have complained about intrusions into their homes and apartments while the owners were away. There have already been more than 10 such cases, and the Helsinki police and the Finnish National Bureau of Investigation have launched a preliminary investigation.

On September 24, Finland’s and Sweden’s rapid response forces jointly scrambled fighter jets for the first time to intercept Russian military aircraft over the Gulf of Finland. The military said the operation took place in international airspace.
Finland granted asylum to Russian citizens Olga and Nikita Belov, who were to be deported to Russia in spring 2026. In August, the court ordered their case to be reconsidered.

Estonia has begun talks with France about a possible participation in the initiative to strengthen nuclear deterrence. Prime Minister Kristen Michal said the decision depends on the country’s readiness, and the French ambassador to Estonia, Alexandre Escorcia, confirmed that the sides are discussing this issue and other areas of defense cooperation.
Finland will join the French nuclear deterrence initiative and begin cooperation with France on consultations on nuclear doctrine, exercises, and the presence of French strategic aviation in the country. Finnish President Alexander Stubb said this does not mean the permanent deployment of French nuclear weapons in Finland and that there will be none there in peacetime.

The Seimas Committee on Law and Order of Lithuania on Wednesday supported the initiative to remove Article 137 from the Constitution, which prohibits the deployment of nuclear weapons and bases of other states in the country. Seven committee members voted for the draft, two against; now it must be brought to a plenary vote and sent to the President of Lithuania.
The Finnish Border Guard has completed construction of a 200-kilometer barrier along the border with Russia. The project took three and a half years and cost 356 million euros; annual maintenance of the barrier is estimated at another 1.5 million euros.
The Government of Finland approved the Ministry of the Interior’s proposal to extend the law on temporary measures to combat unauthorized entry until December 31, 2028. This is the legal basis under which the country keeps its border with Russia closed.
