The Swiss regulator FINMA has concluded its proceedings against Julius Baer and ordered the bank to hold an additional $300 million in capital. It also decided to confiscate about $12 million in profit earned from working with two groups of clients linked to Russian politically exposed persons.

Monaco’s financial regulator AMSF has published the results of multi-year inspections of UBS Monaco, Banque Havilland, Julius Baer, Guardian Management and International Corporate Structuring (ICS), conducted amid the principality’s attempt to leave the FATF grey list. In the dossiers, it pointed to clients with Russian ties, for whom banks and management companies, according to the regulator, insufficiently checked the source of funds, sanctions risks and business connections.
