BARGHEST.asia: security forces at the border can download contacts and call history from Android via Bluetooth
The team of independent digital security researchers at BARGHEST.asia found that Russian security forces during border inspections can, in a matter of seconds, download a list of contacts and call history from an unlocked Android phone via Bluetooth. The study was prompted by a real case: a human rights defender had their phone taken at the Russian border, was asked to unlock it, and it was returned five minutes later.
