The first musical based on Orwell’s novel «1984» is being released in Russian. But not in Russia
George Orwell’s novel «1984» was published in 1948. Since then, this text has been turned into dramatic plays, an opera, and even a ballet — but there have been no musicals yet. Now an international creative team bringing together Russian-speaking artists and directors from seven countries is preparing it for release. The lyrics for the musical «1984» were written by poet Vera Polozkova, and the music by the leader of the band Animal Jazz, Alexey Krasovitsky
