The UN monitoring mission documented 1,004 cases of sexualized violence against civilians and prisoners of war for the period from February 24, 2022, to July 31, 2026. In 892 cases, responsibility was assigned to Russian military personnel and employees of the FSB and FSIN.

According to the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge at HSE University, since 2000 the number of active primary, basic, and secondary general education institutions in Russia has fallen by 45%, to 37.9 thousand by the 2025/26 academic year. The network of state schools in rural areas shrank the most: over 25 years, there were 55% fewer of them.

An effective way to stop Russian military provocations could be NATO’s shift to a proactive strategy. So that it’s not European countries fearing the arrival of Russian drones or fighter jets, but rather Russia itself fearing unexpected «visits» on its own territory. Ukraine has already shown how this is done, reaching Russian military and energy facilities thousands of kilometers from its borders with its drones. But will there be politicians in Europe willing to declare their intent to fundamentally dismantle the aggressive empire threatening the entire free world?
