An investigation has identified four former activists of the banned neo-Nazi youth organization HDJ in the close circle of Ulrich Siegmund, the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) candidate for premier of the state of Saxony-Anhalt. Siegmund could become the first far-right state premier in Germany since the founding of the Federal Republic in 1949; two of these people are part of his closest circle of advisers, and two others helped prepare the election program for the September 6 vote.

Now the 24-year-old human rights activist, together with her team, helps compatriots in similar situations, and «Iskra» works only thanks to donations from private individuals. Right now, Gera is pushing European authorities to amend a regulation that prevents thousands of Russians in exile from opening bank accounts in European banks.
