Poland urges the EU to allow the temporary suspension of asylum applications during mass migration
Poland has called on the European Union to allow member states to temporarily suspend the processing of asylum applications during «instrumentalized» mass migration. Warsaw itself has not registered requests from migrants arriving from Belarus since March 2025 and calls the measure temporary and emergency, although it has been in effect for 18 months.
