Karolinska Institute links TORCH infections during pregnancy to increased autism risk in children
Researchers at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden reported that TORCH infections contracted during pregnancy are associated with more than a threefold increase in a child’s risk of autism. According to their data, these children were also more likely to be diagnosed with intellectual developmental delays.
