The German government is expected to announce in the coming days whom it believes was behind the suspected drone attack on a Ukrainian cargo plane at Leipzig/Halle airport on August 4, and to coordinate its response with EU and NATO partners. Chancellor Friedrich Merz told public broadcaster ARD that the investigation is nearing completion and that the federal government has already reached a common understanding on the response.
