Scientists explained why rare substances in Enceladus’s plumes gather in separate ice grains

An international team of scientists led by Frank Postberg from the Free University of Berlin found that Enceladus «sorts» substances from its subsurface ocean before ejecting them into space. According to the authors, this could make it easier to search for rare compounds, including organic matter, in future missions to Saturn’s moon.

Scientists described the mechanism of brain vessel damage in Alzheimer’s disease due to APOE4

American molecular biologists reported that the APOE4 mutation associated with Alzheimer’s disease contributes to damage to brain blood vessels. According to the researchers, pericytes in the vessel walls more often turn into myofibroblasts, which is linked to the accumulation of beta-amyloid.
