EU ministers discuss temporarily suspending asylum applications in emergencies
EU ministers are discussing the idea of temporarily suspending the submission of asylum applications in emergency situations. The initiative has already been supported by the ministers of Germany and Austria, and the trigger was the July influx of more than 70,000 migrants into Ceuta, a Spanish enclave in North Africa.
