The United States will extend temporary protection for Ukrainians who fled the war and for refugees from Sudan. Under the previous rules, their status was due to expire on Monday, October 19; a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security told CNN that the new deadlines will be announced later, and for now they remain protected and are not subject to deportation.
