Apartheid, genocide, occupation: how justified are the accusations of the Western public against Israel
October 7 is the anniversary of one of the most horrific terrorist attacks of modern times, the attack by the Hamas group on Israel. Three years ago, at the Supernova Sukkot Gathering music festival, as well as in neighboring towns and kibbutzim, militants killed more than 1,200 people of different nationalities and took 251 hostages captive in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. But the Western world marks this date mainly with events in support of Palestine, not Israel. The slogan of one such action in Germany states it plainly: «It did not begin on October 7». Over time, the view has taken root in the world that the massacre at Supernova and in the neighboring kibbutzim was something fleeting and inevitable, and that fundamentally Israel is to blame for everything itself. We examine how appropriate and well-founded the claims against the Jewish state are.
