At the «Science 0+» festival, RAS Academician Alexandra Buzhilova stated that the diet of ancient Denisovans included hamsters, bats, and large animals such as bison, wild horses, deer, wolves, foxes, woolly rhinoceroses, and mammoths. According to her, the Denisovans’ diet differed significantly from that of modern humans.

In Western Siberia, a partial skeleton of an Elasmotherium — an ancient rhinoceros called the «Siberian unicorn» — was discovered. The find was handed over on September 22 to the collections of the Paleontological Museum of Tomsk State University.
