FAZ: the arrested former head of Germany’s BND, August Hanning, communicated with Patrushev for many years
Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (Germany) writes that August Hanning, the former head of Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND), who was arrested on October 6 in Germany on suspicion of espionage and attempted treason, maintained regular contact with Nikolai Patrushev after retiring in 2009. The newspaper links this to several meetings between them and Hanning’s trips to Russia.
