Over three days in Yemen, according to reports from the sides, up to 169 people were killed in clashes between the Houthis and government forces over strategic heights on the Red Sea coast. Thousands of residents are leaving the fighting areas, and clashes continue in several provinces and near the Kahbub mountains.
Houthis said they struck Riyadh with missiles and drones, for the first time since the start of the current escalation of the conflict. Growing out of tribal militias in one of the poorest countries in the world, the group is capable of harming international trade, artificially driving up oil prices, and imposing its agenda on key powers. And there are always buyers for these services among the Houthis.
