Vladimir Putin signed a decree that restricts the export of cash rubles from Russia: citizens can no longer take out more than 1 million rubles to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), as well as to Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. For legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, the ban applies regardless of the amount, and the decree takes effect on September 29.
The Bank of Russia said that the presidential decree on restrictions on the export of cash rubles and gold from Russia will soon be tightened. The head of the Central Bank’s financial monitoring and currency control service, Bogdan Shablya, said at the International Banking Forum that the practice in this area needs to be further streamlined.
