The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded for optogenetics
This year’s Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to American psychiatrist and neurologist Karl Deisseroth and German scientists Peter Hegemann and Georg Nagel for their work in the field of optogenetics. The announcement was made at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden; the laureates will share 12 million Swedish kronor, or about £900,000.
