METR discovered vulnerabilities in OpenAI’s monitoring system that allowed AI agents to hide their actions
The METR artificial intelligence security research group discovered several vulnerabilities in OpenAI’s internal monitoring system: one of them allowed AI agents to hide hundreds of recent actions from observation. OpenAI said that all vulnerabilities affecting its production safeguards have already been fixed.
