Latvia did not support the EU compromise on sanctions against Usmanov and Fridman
Latvia refused to support in the EU a compromise on extending personal sanctions imposed because of Russian aggression against Ukraine. The plan called for removing Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman from the list in exchange for extending the entire regime by three years at once.
