The trial of former French culture minister Rachida Dati began in Paris in a corruption case linked to Renault-Nissan. Prosecutors say that in 2009–2013 she illegally lobbied for the automaker, receiving fees through its Dutch subsidiary while serving as a Member of the European Parliament.
