EU ministers are discussing the idea of temporarily suspending the submission of asylum applications in emergency situations. The initiative has already been supported by the ministers of Germany and Austria, and the trigger was the July influx of more than 70,000 migrants into Ceuta, a Spanish enclave in North Africa.
In Vienna and the German city of Neustadt an der Weinstraße, raids were carried out on two entrepreneurs suspected of supplying cars to Russia in circumvention of European Union sanctions. The Vienna Regional Court for Civil Matters has ordered Rasperia Trading Limited in absentia to pay Raiffeisen Bank International and JSC «Raiffeisenbank» about €3.15 billion. The company has four weeks to appeal the decision before it enters into force.
