ICE stopped counting miscarriages among detained pregnant women after October 3, 2025
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) stopped recording cases of miscarriages among detained women after October 3, 2025. From January to September 2025, the agency registered at least 18 such cases, and in the fall and winter of last year, the detention centers held a record number of pregnant women for the past year: at least 87 in October and 101 in November.
