«The Left» has for the first time in its history taken first place in the election to the Berlin House of Representatives and, after 92.3% of precincts have been counted, is receiving 25.7% of the second votes. The CDU is second with 18.8%, and the AfD is third with 16.0%.
AfD received 43.8% of the vote in the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament election and won 39 of 83 seats. That is not enough for an outright majority, but the party still has a chance to lead the region.

Recent polls in Saxony-Anhalt give AfD 40–43% and put it one step away from an absolute majority in the future state parliament. The Greens and other small parties could play a decisive role: if they fail to clear the threshold, AfD’s chances rise sharply.
