«Yandex» has updated its user agreement and added drone attacks to the list of force majeure events that may exempt the company from liability. The changes were made after drone attacks on the company’s data centers in Sasovo, Ryazan Oblast, and in Kaluga on October 8 and 9.
In Russia, some online media outlets and services experienced a disruption: the websites of several major publications and platforms stopped opening. Some companies linked the outages to an attack on Yandex’s data center in the Ryazan region, and the company itself confirmed a fire and the suspension of the site’s operations.

On the night of October 8, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck Yandex’s data center in the city of Sasovo, Ryazan Oblast, and the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat oil refinery in Bashkortostan, Ukrainian monitoring channels Exilenova+, VCHK-OGPU, and Astra reported. Yandex called the incident an «incident» and reported the temporary unavailability of several services.
