EU ministers are discussing the idea of temporarily suspending the submission of asylum applications in emergency situations. Ukrainian Vladimir Zhuravlyov, arrested in Croatia on suspicion of involvement in the sabotage of Nord Stream, has requested political asylum in the country. Last week, a court in Pula allowed his extradition to Germany, and the defense plans to appeal the decision.

The district court of the Croatian city of Pula ordered the extradition to Germany of Ukrainian Volodymyr Zhuravlev, who was detained in the case of the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines. In Germany, prosecutors are investigating the case of a 105-year-old man who served as a guard at the Nazi Stalag-326 VI K camp in the west of the country during World War II.
