The leaked correspondence showed that in 2015–2017, AfD co-chair Alice Weidel sharply criticized Björn Höcke, called his rhetoric «deeply problematic», and pushed for his expulsion from the party. Later, she said Höcke was suitable for a post in the federal cabinet.
